We always welcome new walk leaders. This not only provides variety but also shares the load with existing leaders. Help will always be given. Just ask one of the committee or a walk leader.
All of our walks leaders are volunteers from within the group. Although it is not expected that every member will lead a walk, those that do are greatly respected for their vital contribution to the walks programme, without which there would be no group.
The deadline for walks and other information is approximately six weeks before the programme begins.
We expect the core days for walking to be Wednesday and Sunday but we know that there are several members who would like to lead walks but cannot do these days. We encourage you to offer walks on any days, at any time, and of any length. Leaders can start submitting their walks at any time, the earlier the better. The deadline by which walks must be submitted to appear in the next printed programme is 17 February 2018, but walks submitted after that date will be accepted and they will appear on the Ipswich Ramblers website and also the Ramblers website
The walks programme is in effect compiled by all the walk leaders and overseen by the committee.
The submission of walks is a three step process.
- Select an available date from the calendar on the submitting walks page
- Register the date you wish to lead a walk with the co-ordinators
- Submit details of your walk
