FAQs

How do I join in a walk?
Just turn up at the meeting point 10 minutes before the start time and introduce yourself to the walk leader who will look after you.

Do I need to bring a map with me?
No. The walk leader will have the necessary map(s). By all means bring one along if you wish. Most of us like to have some idea of where we have been and where we are going.

Can I bring my dog?
It is Rambler's policy that we do not encourage walkers to bring dogs.

Do I have to live in Suffolk?
Not at all. We welcome anyone whether they live locally, are on holiday in the area, or just passing through.

Do I have to be a Ramblers member?
Our walks are primarily for Ramblers members. Non members are welcome to join us as guests on two or three walks, though if you walk with any Ramblers groups regularly you will be expected to join the Ramblers.

Can I walk with other Ramblers groups?
Yes. Members can walk with any Ramblers group at anytime. Every week Ramblers volunteers organise hundreds of group walks all over Great Britain, ranging from short local strolls to bracing hillside treks. Some walks are aimed especially at people in their 20s and 30s or families with children. Details of most Ramblers walks are listed on our Groups Walks Finder.
